My name is Pastor Joe Poremba of Grace Independent Baptist Church of Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. My wife Connie and I met at Grace Independent Baptist Church in 1990. We met while being paired off as Soul winning/Visitation partners. After I knew it was God's will for Connie to be my wife. I asked her to marry me on Feb. 14, 1991, and on Oct 5, 1991 we got married.
On May 18, 1993 the Lord blessed us with our first child, her name is Hannah. Then on October 5, 1996, the Lord allowed my wife to give birth to our second child. His name was Samuel, but 17 hours later he went home to be with the Lord. Our third child was a blessing from the Lord, and his name is Josiah, he was born on March 8, 2001. And then lastly, the Lord gave us our forth child, a little girl by the name of Naomi, on July 9, 2004.
On July 12, 2009; I became the Pastor of Grace Independent Baptist Church. Grace is a local church ministry that takes on the role of a mission work. Our church consists of a variety of different nationalities including: Liberian, Nigerian, Sierra Leonean, Ghanaian, Haitian, Korean, Albanian, African American, and White American.
The Lord has blessed our ministry over the past year. Our church attendance has grown 50% during the year. Going from an average of 15-17 to 38 -40 in attendance each Sunday morning. We have taken on 3 new members so far this year, and look forward to bring more into the membership before the end of the year. We have also had the joy of seeing many who have come to Christ as their Lord and Saviour through visitation, Sunday school, Church services, and Child Evangelism Fellowship of Pa 5-day club. The Lord has used Grace Independent Baptist Church as a shining lighthouse in our community to bring people of all ages, backgrounds, and nationalities to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.
As a result of our commitment to the Great Commission; we have seen spiritual growth amongst our members, and the beginning of revival in the hearts of the believers. Please pray for Grace as we continue to labor in the harvest field that our Lord has given to us to work for the Lord Jesus Christ.
